Louisville, KY – – Mural Artist, Lydiaemily will be in Louisville this weekend to bring awareness to MS by painting a wall of the Butchertown Market, the home of the National MS Society. The civil rights activist and street artist is also inviting members of the MS community to join her Saturday, May 30, in this MS masterpiece which symbolizes hope to all those who suffer from this silent disease.
“I am a muralist and street artist living with MS and this is how I’ve decided to express myself and my journey to bring attention to the cause the only way I know how. Through art,” she said. “I choose Louisville as the flagship city because of the wonderful people I met from the chapter at the National MS Society Leadership Conference and because I love the idea of doing a mural for a smaller city who may not receive the same recognition and attention as others.”
Lydiaemily’s tour and life-long desire to, “bring fire to the people” will take her to Portland, Oregon, Austin, Texas, Los Angeles, California and of course Louisville, Kentucky. Each city will be unique in its mural colors but the message will be the same – to Create A World Free of MS. The National MS Society will host an invitation only Reception welcoming Lydiaemily and invite guests to help paint the mural.
“We are honored to have been selected as one of LydiaEmily stops on her upcoming tour,” said Stacy Funk, National MS Society Chapter President. “Her unique artwork will raise the profile of the Kentucky Southeast Indiana Chapter and become a destination for those to view her amazing MS image.”
