Greater Louisville Inc., the Metro Chamber of Commerce (GLI), President and CEO Kent Oyler recently wrapped up a trip to India the United Arab Emirates in an effort to drum up new business for Louisville and the rest of Kentucky.
Oyler joined Chamber executives from Winchester-Clark County, Jessamine County, Murray-Calloway County, Ashland and Madisonville, Ky., and Bartlett, Tenn., as well as representatives from the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce Executives and World Trade Center Kentucky.
The purpose of the April 2-11 trip, Oyler said, was to exchange and foster business and cultural connections with their counterparts in India and United Arab Emirates.
“The Greater Louisville region competes in a global economic development environment,” said Oyler said. “This trip to India and the UAE resulted in important new relationships with many influential international business leaders and stands to advance the economy of our region and the entire state.”
The group visited Delhi, Jaipur and Agra in India, and Abu Dhabi & Dubai in the United Arab Emirates.
Meetings were held with the Minister Counselor for Commercial Affairs, US Embassy, New Delhi; Rajasthan Industries, World Trade Center Jaipur and World Trade Center Mumbai; Indo American Friends Group (Chamber of Commerce) in Delhi; and Andrea Irani, Account Manager of Association Management & Consulting, MCI Group, Dubai.
