Louisville – President David Tandy (D-4) announces an important opportunity for small businesses in the Metro Louisville area to connect with larger corporations in an effort to promote their businesses and services at the Louisville Metro Diverse Business Fair set for Tuesday, October 13th.
“The goal of this Fair is simple: give minority and women owned business owners a place to meet with our large local corporations and other entities to see if relationships can be built which could lead to business deals that allow for these small businesses to grow and create well-paying jobs,” said Tandy. “Any time we can encourage local companies to use the talented resources of small businesses right here in Louisville it is a great win for everyone. But in some cases, there has to be a starting place to know what one business needs and what the other business offers.”
The Diverse Business Fair will be held at Fourth Street Live from 8:00am until 12:00pm. There will be no charge to participate.
All minority, female and disadvantaged business entity owners, or their representatives are invited to participate in the business fair. To gain admission, the business entity must either be certified with the Louisville Metro Human Rights Commission or in the process of completing such certification. For those businesses that have not currently certified or in the process of being certified as an MBE, WBE or DBE they can start the process and attend the business fair on site.
Tierra Kavenagh Wayne, President of TKT & Associates, a local WBE/MBE, said, “I commend President Tandy for lending his leadership in sponsoring this business fair. This type of engagement allows minority and women-owned businesses to network directly with decision makers from several corporations and organizations.” Mrs. Kavenagh Wayne went on to say, “These relationships can cultivate opportunities that lead to ongoing prosperity, growth and sustainability for diverse firms.”
“We are happy to host the Diverse Business Fair in collaboration with Metro Council President David Tandy at Fourth Street Live!,” said Zed Smith, Chief Operating Officer of The Cordish Companies. “The event will provide a great opportunity for diverse business owners to meet with key decision makers and procurement officers from throughout the Metro area.
