There are no new ideas, of course, so WVEZ-FM radio is reviving the Ramsey Brothers, John and Jeff, to do a daily morning program on the station.
Here’s the release posted on the WAVE-TV site, where John Ramsey hosts segments on WAVE3 Listens and, I think, still does the 725 Live show that airs on Saturdays.
LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – Cox Media Group Louisville’s New Lite 106.9, WVEZ-FM, have announced brothers and former radio morning show partners Jeff and John Ramsey will reunite in a new daily morning program, called The Ramsey Brother, on Lite 106.9, effective Jan. 3.
First on the radio together on WRKA in the 1980s, the Ramsey Brothers, started their careers together as touring stand-up comedians and last worked together in this capacity in 1997. Jeff Ramsey has been the host of Lite 106.9’s morning programming since 2008 and says that bringing his brother back into the studio with him is “a dream come true.”
Lite 106.9 Operations Manager Shane Collins promises the new full-service, AM-drive program will be “a fun, positive, upbeat show that caters to hip, family-oriented women.” The show is planning content that spotlights Louisville but doesn’t ignore the top pop culture stories of the day, while continuing to focus on playing the best music of the 80s, 90s and Now. “And we may have a few cool surprises up our sleeve, too,” Collins added.
