Sure, there’s stuff to cover in the news, like the Mayor going down to the ‘hood, the Metro Council demanding ethics compliance from MSD, and there are dangerous feral hogs wandering around in Jefferson Memorial Forest. They’re having a big party at Bellarmine tonight, and UK is in the Final Four.
Another story concocted by the Karen Sypher defense team, claiming a former high school principal called in one of the extortion threats, is buried in the news.
But get this — at Urban Active on Dixie, there are complaints about a woman nosing around in the men’s locker room under the guise of cleaning. Check out Adam Walser’s amazing story on WHAS-TV.
In an incredible case of bad public relations in action, management at the facility defends the practice, saying it’s necessary for the woman custodian to be in the men’s room several times a day.
Here’s the best part:
Josh Williams says he encountered a woman holding a mop, bucket and spray bottle while he stood there wearing nothing at all.
He says it happened on at least four occasions when he went to work out at the gym.
“Most people tend to cover up when she comes in,” said Williams. “I find it unnerving for her to come in when I’m changing, so I tend to stay covered up when she comes in.”
Williams says one time the woman even snuck up on him while he was using a urinal.
“While you’re using the bathroom, she is just standing there, mopping the floor right next to you,” said Williams.
Now, I’m a member of Urban Active, which Walser’s story indicates has 173 complaints in three years and has an F rating with the Better Business Bureau. But I haven’t encountered any women in the men’s room, though I don’t go to the one on Dixie.
The damage may be done to the company’s reputation, though it would be a no-brainer for any P.R. pro to give Mr. Williams the refund he requested and address some of the reasons it has gotten so many complaints.
And they could make sure the steam room works.
