TGIF Local Lunch Post – Go Fishing!

Hooked on Green River style!

With both Lent and warm picnic weather behind us, there is still the call and craving for fish on Friday. In a bowl, on a platter, between bread or chopsticks, the humble fish gives its all in the name of nourishment and taste.

A few suggestions for the best lunchtime catches are captured in the following menu items:

Napa River Grill – Venture to northern California and the Pacific Rim for soups, salads and entrees. A simple sandwich gets the spotlight -Bass Ale Battered Cod Sandwich – Ciabatta bread, house-made tartar sauce, chiffonade of leaf lettuce,

Hill Street Fish Fry – In the spirit of a good old-fashioned fish fry, enjoy a hot platter of catfish and hushpuppies with all the sides.  This Old Louisville establishment has been slaying seafood appetites for nearly two decades.

The Fish House – The cod has a kick! Covered in pepper and cornbread for that famous Kentucky Green River style. Taters, slaw and sweet tea bring a little bit of summertime to the cold season.
Oishii Sushi – From Derby Rolls to Dragon Rolls there are two locations for this small yet potent sushi house. Enjoy!
Doc Crow’s – Enjoy a bowl of Southern hospitality on Whiskey Row with  Seafood Gumbo, a Creole style with medley of seafood and andouille sausage.
Your tackle box should be stocked with plenty of cash, Groupons or a Louisville Originals dining card. Enjoy the bounty of the lakes, rivers and oceans with Louisville’s fast and fresh reputation for some of the best seafood in the Commonwealth. And the hook? It’s all locally owned and operated!
