Viva Hospitality Group’s previous Mexican-themed eateries are well-known in SoIN: La Catrina, Señor Iguanas and Sleepy Rooster.

Earlier this week reporter Brooke McAfee of the Jeffersonville News and Tribune revealed a new Viva project in downtown New Albany that extends the group’s culinary range into “New American cuisine.”

New restaurant planned for Toast on Market space in New Albany

The family-owned Viva Hospitality Group is preparing to open The Fair, a new restaurant moving into the former Toast on Market space at 141 E. Market St.

The restaurant will be dinner only, and it will be open Wednesday through Sunday. The goal is to open it this summer.

A few bullet points:

  • “The restaurant will source from local growers, producers and artisans, (co-owner and executive chef Roza) Segoviano said.”
  • “(The Fair) is also inspired by Segoviano’s experience traveling in Europe.”
  • “She is planning ‘sophisticated, elegant dishes’ such as steak, seafood and pasta dishes. The menu will include a curated wine list and classic cocktails.”
  • “The restaurant will showcase the work and talents of different members of Segoviano’s family, including her husband and Viva co-owner Juan … this will be the first concept where (her kids) have been involved ‘from the ground up.'”
