NEWARK, Del., Jan. 28, 2016 /PRNewswire/ — This week, a group of schools and youth clubs across the country received the Lead2Feed Certified School honor in recognition for their inspiring community service work and impressive demonstrations of leadership. Lead2Feed is the nation’s leading and fastest growing free student leadership program that encourages students to develop leadership and teamwork skills by completing service learning projects addressing hunger or other community needs. Lead2Feed is a Common Core-aligned program inspired by Executive Chairman of Louisville-based Yum! Brands and leadership expert, David Novak, and developed by the Foundation for Impact on Literacy and Learning, with support from the Lift a Life Foundation, and the Yum! Brands Foundation.
The inaugural Lead2Feed Certified Schools and youth club include:

- Design & Architecture Senior High – Miami, FL
- Doss High School – Louisville, KY
- Eisenhower High School – Lawton, OK
- First Colonial High School – Virginia Beach, VA
- Mercy Academy – Louisville, KY
- Raymond S Kellis High School – Glendale, AZ
- The Harbour School – Baltimore, MD
- The Walter Damrosch School – Bronx, NY
- Winton Woods Middle School – Cincinnati, OH
- Milam Youth Activity Center (Boys & Girls Club) – Fort Bliss, TX
To qualify for this honor schools and youth clubs must participate in Lead2Feed for two or more years with a minimum of two teachers registered, actively participate by completing and submitting a leadership project, and also acquire a signed confirmation from the principal or youth director.
To commemorate their achievement, each certified school and youth club will receive a banner, a glass block plaque and digital badges to share on their respective websites and social channels. Looking ahead, new Lead2Feed Certified Schools and youth clubs will be announced nationally each fall.

Since its inception three years ago, more than one million middle and high school students from 3,500 schools and clubs across all 50 states have participated in the Lead2Feed Student Leadership Program. Teachers/Advisors can register for this free program and have their student teams participate in the Lead2Feed Student Leadership Program and enter the Lead2Feed Challenge online atwww.lead2feed.org for the opportunity to win over $275,000 in charity grants and $170,000 in technology grants for schools and clubs.
