Two ways to step up for Louisville

View from Iroquois Park Lookout

I know better than most that there are a ton of walk-a-thons and other charitable benefits in this town – but think about coming out for these two, both at Iroquois Park.

First up is the Louisville Public Media Rock ‘n’ Stroll this Saturday starting at 5:00. The best part is that you will be supporting a huge part of the fabric of our community, public radio stations WFPK, WFPL and WUOL, but you will also for just $25 get treated to a concert at the amphitheater with Ben Sollee and David Mead.

Next, be sure to join me in support of another important way to support this community by coming out for the  Metro United Way UPS WALK UNITED, a 5K walk/run, on Saturday, September 10th, 9:00 a.m. at Iroquois Park. Just visit metrounitedway.kintera.org to sign up, form a team, invite your friends. Registration is just $20 but Green Bean Delivery will be donating 1 pound of fresh food to Dare to Care Kids’ Café for each participant who raises $100 or more. I believe those MBA types call that a Win-Win.

As the website says: “If you want to walk fast, go alone; if you want to walk far, go with others.”

Hope to see you walkers, bikers and runners out soon in support of the city we love.
