Sixty thousand plus fans showed up for the UK and UL football game Saturday night in Lexington. While it wasn’t sold out, I didn’t get a seat, or I should say the whole seat! I paid for one sure, about ten dollars an inch I’d say! It was bad enough that I was the lone red ranger in a sea of blue, but once I finally got to my seat located in the nose bleed section, I couldn’t seem to find it. Oh it was there, number 12 on row 24, but I couldn’t see it! Not because some one was in it, but because collectively hundreds were in it.
It was bad enough weaving my way up the isle, in and out of the three hundred pounders, but I figured once I got to my perch, it would all be worth it.
Packem in! I understand games are about money, but it’s getting ridiculous. Air lines are doing it, so why not football venues? If you take up enough room for two seats, you pay for two seats, how’s that?
Listen, not trying to be a whistle blower, God knows we had enough of those at the game, but something should be done. Now that’s funny Greg.
There is no immediate solution to the weight problem Kentucky has, that’s just the reality. And yes, football is a game of inches, but when the game gets in the seats, come on. Yes I’m being sarcastic, but the weight problem is nothing to laugh at. We have been reviewing this play over and over, throwing off side flags hear and there and no bodies listening. At the end of the day, we all have to be “Sold Out” to the fact that it’s our health we are dealing with and that’s no game!
