LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Verizon Wireless’ new retail store design debuts in Louisville tomorrow with the opening of the technology company’s first Kentucky Smart Store at 4800 Outer Loop, across from Toys R Us. Verizon Smart Stores are designed to showcase how connected devices on the nation’s largest and most reliable 4G LTE network can enhance mobile lifestyles.

“The goal is to experience – to see, touch and learn what is possible with connected accessories and devices that interact with smartphones and tablets on Verizon’s 4G LTE network,” said Lauren Love-Wright, Verizon Wireless region president for Kentucky, Indiana and Michigan.

Store manager Joe Rakes added: “Verizon experience Specialists will help people explore capabilities and gain confidence as they navigate the array of new connected devices we offer today.”

The newest Verizon Wireless 4,197-square-foot Smart Store showcases mobile lifestyles – such as fitness or music-focused lifestyles – and the devices and accessories that make these lifestyles a reality. The first Louisville Smart Store includes the following lifestyle zones:

*         Get Fit<http://www.verizonwireless.com/accessories/fitness-fan/>, which focuses on health and fitness devices such as fitness tracker watches and wristbands and smart sports equipment;

#KYSmartStoreSweeps

           Guests who visit the new store between opening day, May 15, and May 30, and post a selfie of themselves in the store on Twitter with the hashtag #KYSmartStoreSweeps have the chance to win a Droid Turbo<http://www.verizonwireless.com/smartphones/droid-turbo-ballistic-nylon/> smartphone, or one of four other prizes: a Fitbit Flex Wireless Activity + Sleep Wristband<http://www.verizonwireless.com/accessories/fitbit-flex-wireless-activity-sleep-wristband-black/>, a Bose SoundLink Color Bluetooth Speaker<http://www.verizonwireless.com/accessories/bose-soundlink-color-bluetooth-speaker-red/>, a Belkin WeMo Insight Switch<http://www.verizonwireless.com/accessories/belkin-wemo-insight-switch/>, or an iPlanet Selfie Stick<http://www.verizonwireless.com/accessories/iplanet-bluetooth-selfie-stick-blue/#?color=Black>. Free Wireless Workshops

Verizon also will host “wireless workshops”<http://www.verizonwireless.com/vzw/storelocator/workshop/workshop-landing.jsp> at the store, which was relocated from Preston Highway, to help customers learn how to use and make the most of their devices. The Preston Highway location closes at the end of business today.

High Speed Transfer Service

Customers visiting the new store can use Verizon’s high-speed transfer service, which moves content (pictures, video, music, etc.) from one device to another in a significantly faster and virtually hassle-free manner for any Android and iOS devices. The Verizon Wireless Content Transfer service is built into the Verizon Cloud application for Verizon Wireless devices and will be available as a standalone app for competitor devices that are porting in.

Verizon Wireless has updated its employee’s fashion at the store, revamping their wardrobe with diverse gear that allows them to personalize their look to reflect their individual style. Instead of the register counter, Verizon Wireless store representatives will have tablets to assist customers with sales and service within the various lifestyle zones.

Verizon Wireless is converting its entire fleet of 1,700 communications stores into Smart Stores<http://www.verizonwireless.com/news/article/2014/09/verizon-wireless-smart-stores-enhancing-the-customer-experience-and-mobile-lifestyle-through-the-reinvention-of-retail.html> over the next few years.
