WFPK Winter Wednesday February 10th

Louisville’s favorite summer concert series has moved inside for the winter. The WFPK Waterfront Wednesday® concert series has been reinvented for the colder climate as WFPK Winter Wednesday in collaboration with the Clifton Center.

WFPK Winter Wednesday continues February 10, 2016 and will feature The Saint Johns and Justin Paul Lewis. Doors open at 6:30pm. The music will start at approximately 7:30pm.

The Saint Johns “project the music and the lyrics with such sincerity that their connection with the audience is almost instantaneous.” — Stephen Bradley, Communities Digital News

Justin Paul Lewis “treats the guitar as a percussion instrument, producing shucking beats and heavily muted chords with his finger-style technique. Lewis treats his vocals as another form of instrumentation, delivering his stories with a mumbled rhythm as if he were talking in his sleep and describing his dreams in real-time. The only comparison I can really draw is that he sounds like Tom Waits without the ravages of whisky and poor life choices warping his vocal cords.” — Matt Champion, KDHX Community Media

The concerts are free and open to the public.  Preferred seating is available to members of 91.9 WFPK and the Friends of the Clifton Center.  Members will receive information via email to reserve their seats prior to the general public.

WFPK Winter Wednesday is sponsored by Quest Outdoors, Commonwealth Bank & Trust, and Sweetwater Brewing Co.. The concert series takes place once a month, November through February, at the Clifton Center located at 2117 Payne Street. This will be the final concert date for this season.

Winter Wednesday also continues WFPK’s long partnership with Yum! Brands Foundation to raise food for Dare to Care. Everyone in attendance is encouraged to bring canned goods and other non-perishable food items to be collected at the door.
