Local WAVE3 Anchor, Dawne Gee will be honored with the Women of Courage Award and will be introducing Zoe Koplowitz, the award-winning author of “The Winning Spirit: Life Lessons Learned In Last Place”. The book was hailed by critics as “consistently affecting…memorable… and uproarious.”  Zoe has completed 20 New York City Marathon’s and always in last place.  Zoe’s marathons have become a metaphor for self-acceptance and personal achievement.  Her transformational journey of the spirit has captured the imagination of hundreds of thousands of people all over the world, superseding the boundaries of race, class and economics.

The Woman on the Move Luncheon is a unique fundraising experience creating an inspiring, motivational and empowering leadership environment. The event will gather leading women in our community, with members of the National MS Society creating awareness, sharing stories and building relationships.

The heart of the luncheon will honor our Woman of Courage Award to Dawne Gee who demonstrates dignity, grace, strength, compassion, and creativity in her everyday life.

Lunch will be provided by Upper Crust, desserts will be provided by Dawne’s sister Pam Raglin, who battles MS and décor will be provided by Dawne’s mom, Joanna Smith.
