Americana Festival Brings the World To Louisville This Weekend

Louisville, Ky., – The 25th annual Americana World Festival – “Where Louisville Meets the World!” – will be held on Saturday, June 6th, 2015 at the Iroquois Amphitheater! This free, family-oriented event brings the local community together to share and celebrate the cultural heritages of the people in the Louisville Metro area.

This year, the event will begin with our first-ever Run the World 5K Run/Walk at 9am. This 5K fun run will loop through the scenic Iroquois Park with performances from musicians and dancers from around the world stationed along the course. Registration is only $25 until race day and includes a free Americana World Festival t-shirt and a yoga class following the race led by 502 Power Yoga. Following the 5K, from 11am – 9pm, there will be a full day of performances, food, and fun.Entertainment this year will include Appalatin, Hot Brown Smackdown, and The Horse Traders among others! Food and beverages will be sold by local food truck favorites as well as international food vendors. A Kids’ Zone will offer activities for kids, such as bounce houses and crafts.Community organizations will be on-hand to talk about services available to community members, and vendors will be selling international crafts and other goods! There will also be a raffle with the chance to win big. This is an event you do not want to miss!
