Got Two Cents on the Iron Quarter? Bob Edwards-a man of few and powerful words

Bob on the bricks of time says it all.

From  NPR’s “Morning Edition” to Sirius XM Satellite Radio, Bob Edwards has been our voice of reason as well as the touch of broadcast genius. He’s on the radio, on the internet and on our minds. As a native  of Louisville, he always has a lot to say about his hometown and gives back to our city. He is not shy about bragging about the neighborhoods, rituals and history of Louisville.

His reaction to the complicated issue down on Main Street, as Bob Seger would sing, is straightforward. The fact that my intro is longer than his comment is almost embarrassing, but what can I say? The irony of his image painted upon bricks in Phoenix Hill (pictured here) is not lost on anyone. Here’s what he said:

“What chance does one’s history and heritage have when politicians hook up with their developer donors? Ordinary people who value their cultural legacy are sold out everyday by those who value greed and power.”
