Urban Bourbon Trail® adds airport location, 7 more stops LOUISVILLE, Ky. – To help celebrate National Bourbon Heritage Month, Louisville Tourism has released the annual edition of the Urban Bourbon Trail Passport. Entering its eleventh year, the Urban Bourbon Trail will have 44 bars and restaurants including the first ever stop at the Louisville International Airport.   Joining the roster of Urban Bourbon Trail stops this year are eight (8) new bars and restaurants: Book & Bourbon Southern Kitchen (pre-security at the Louisville International Airport), Blue Horse, Butchertown Grocery, Check’s BBQ & Blues, Coals Artisan Pizza, JB’s Pub, Recbar and Waylon’s Feed & Firewater. The Urban Bourbon Trail is Louisville’s take on a self-guided pub crawl, highlighting the city’s best local Bourbon bars and restaurants in the form of a passport. Participants can start the Trail by picking up a passport at the Louisville Visitor Center at 4th and Jefferson Streets downtown or at any of the participating bars and restaurants. After making a purchase, not required to be alcoholic, a participant receives a stamp in their passport. Once six (6) stamps are received, passports can be redeemed at the Louisville Visitor Center for an Urban Bourbon Trailblazer T-shirt.   The Urban Bourbon Trail began in 2008 before Louisville’s Bourbon tourism landscape was fully developed. It began with only 8 stops and has nearly doubled in size each year. Over 27,000 people have completed the Trail, including people from all 50 states and 23 countries. Among the criteria to be a partner of the Trail is to have over 50 Bourbons, a significant Bourbon culture and knowledgeable staff. The Louisville Visitor Center is offering to “Make it a Double” for passports redeemed in the month of September, Bourbon Heritage Month. Starting Sept. 1 through Sept. 30, an additional “I’d Rather Be Drinking Bourbon” water bottle will be an added redemption prize.   A complete list of the Urban Bourbon Trail stops, as well as an interactive map and list of Bourbon Heritage Month events can be found online at www.gotolouisville.com/ubt.
